Sorry for the plethora of posts in your feedreader. I really didn't wake up this morning thinking "I'm going to inundate everyone with blog posts today!"
But I couldn't let this one go by...
Today marks the one-year anniversary of my blog! My first post (as a very nervous, very closeted, very anonymous blogger) was posted on July 7th, 2008. It was only a week or two before that that I had been able to think in my head for the first time the words "I'm gay".
This coming Saturday (the 11th) will mark the one-year anniversary of my coming out to Sarah--certainly one of the most significant events in my life over the last few years.
It's amazing to me to look back and see how far I've come and how much I've changed in a year. I believe that most of the changes have been for the better--I'm generally happier, more confident, and (I believe) more caring, loving, and accepting than I was a year ago. I hope that the next year can bring similar growth and improvement.

If I was a wordsmith like Clint or Matt or Avery I would maybe be able to express my love for you.
But I'm not.
You and your amazing wife and children are doing truly divine work. My heart swells because I know you and your family. Thank you for being a part of my life--if you were still in the closet, I'd never know you, I'd undoubtedly have had a much tougher time during my lows.

We love you, too. You might be grateful for us, but words cannot express just how grateful we are for you and everyone else that we have met over the last year. We never would have imagined that we, shy and backward Scott and Sarah, could have so many friends. It has been amazing.
Scott, thank you for letting me in on your life as soon as you were able to do so. It has been the best year ever. Here's to many more awesome years to come!

What a year this has been! It seems so much longer than that since we first met. I feel like a lifetime of emotion and events have occurred since then.

What Beck said. I still remember my first quavering e-mail and chat with you Scott when I was only out a few weeks myself. You told me you were no experienced authority either, having only come out a few months prior. Looking back it truly has been a year like no other in my life and you & Sarah are a large part of that. Looking forward to many more in future.
